Rotherhithe (/ ˈ r ɒ ð ər h aɪ ð /) is a residential district in south-east London, England, and part of the London Borough of ically the area was the most northeastern settlement in the county of Surrey.
It is located on a peninsula on the south bank of the Thames, facing Wapping and Limehouse on the north bank, and is a part of the Docklands nial county: Greater London. Rotherhithe, or, as it is occasionally called, "Redriff," is worthy of note as the first place where docks were constructed for the convenience of London.
The parish adjoins Bermondsey on the east, and extends along the southern shore of the Thames as far as Deptford. The compiler of the "New View of London," published inconsiders.
